Upcycle your furniture
An Introduction to Upcycling - This introductory course will walk you through all the basics of how to take an unloved piece of furniture, prepare and paint it to restore it, ready for everyday use again.
We encourage you to bring your own small piece of furniture to work on. (Ideally something not too sentimental to start off with). A small bookcase, cabinet, table etc would be ideal. We will ask you to send photos of what you intend to work on, so we can confirm it's suitability prior to the workshop) . If you need a piece for the course, this can be arrange but will be a small additional cost.
All other tools, paint etc will be available and provided as part of the course.
If you need additional hardware, e.g. knobs etc, then you can either provide your own or discuss options prior to the day for us to provide from our range at a small additional cost.
You will learn basic steps to preparing for general upcycling projects and some tips and techniques for doing so. We will demonstrate how to use Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in a variety of ways and teach several decorative paint styles and techniques. You will then select your paint colour choice and apply to your own project piece.
We will explore all the options for finishing and protecting your project and offer several examples for some creative and decorative techniques, you may also wish to use on your project piece too.
